For my baby shower, a friend of mine gave me a gift card to Rojo Pottery. Robin at Rojo Pottery does belly bowls. Tonight we went & had the belly mold done. Robin first takes a plaster of paris mold of your belly & then makes a pottery bowl out of the mold. I can't wait to see the finished product. My 34+ week belly bowl will be done in a couple of weeks.
I've been looking for a rocker for the baby's room. Today I found this at a junky antique store. It was marked $20, but I talked them down to $12. This is the before picture. We'll be sanding, priming, painting & redoing the seat. Stay tuned for the after picture.
Jake & I went to Charleston this weekend to visit Emily. Our Grandparents met us in Charleston on their way from FL to IA. We were also supposed to meet some friends from MN, who were in Charleston for a family wedding. Unfortunately, they ended up with food poisoning & had to cancel. So bummed we couldn't see them too.
Saturday morning we went to the Summerville Farmer's Market. Jake being funny. He put a watermelon in his shirt.
Jake & Grandpa playing Checker's on the ipod touch. It was so great to see Grandpa & Grandma. We hadn't seen them since our wedding.
Jake started painting the crib on Saturday & finished it on Sunday. I'm sure you're all surprised that I picked black, to paint the crib. The crib with the lovely quilt Mom Flaming made for the baby. I found a bumper tonight at Once Upon A Child. I'm still looking for a crib skirt; I may end up sewing one. I still need to get crib sheets as well. . . I'd love to find the lime green for the sheets. I've been working in the baby's room a lot recently. Doing lots of reorganizing of closets & the lockers. I'll post pictures once it's presentable.
