TWO years

of wedded bliss.

These two years have gone by so fast. I didn't fully know what an amazing man I was getting when we married on July 26, 2008. Jake has surprised me with how talented he is: fixing cars, baking cookies, installing laminate floors, landscaping, building adirondack chairs, random projects, really redoing an entire house.
Now I am amazed once again by what a great Dad Jake is for Lily. He already is so sweet & loving with her. Jake does all of these things while being an attentive, caring and loving husband to me and providing for our family.

I am so thankful for my husband. God has blessed me more than i could ever have imagined or asked for.

I love you Jacob Taylor Flaming.
Forever.

6 weeks

How is our Lily already 6 weeks old?

These first 6 weeks have gone by so fast. We have had lots of friends & family come to visit us as well as our trip to IN. Tomorrow, I start back to work. Thankfully, I am able to work from home. Pray for our family as I transition to working while being a mom & a wife.

captain's chair

Back when my parent's were here, Jake went for a run one morning & came back with a captain's chair. He pulled it from someone's trash at the end of their driveway. It was falling apart, smelled bad & the seat was ripped out.
Jake primed (with Kilz) & painted the chair while I sewed a new back & seat for the chair.
It's a fun new addition to our kitchen.

kitchen update

GRANITE counters and a new dishwasher that hopefully won't cloud our glasses & spot our silverware
I know. . . you're so surprised that i picked black.
Jake installed the dishwasher.

New DEEP sink & faucet, perfect for bathing the baby.

more visitors

Auntie Lindsay flew in, from MN, on Thursday and Auntie Emily came up, from Charleston, on Saturday. Lily has a LOT of aunts. . . . 4 more still to meet!

The happy (color coordinated) family!

We went to the famous Britt's donuts on Sunday at Carolina Beach.

Zzzzzzzzzz

Lily loves to sleep with both hands above her head.
We like to say that she is praising Jesus!

Grandpa & Grandma Visit Lily

First of all, our camera BROKE last week. BAD timing for a camera to stop working. My parents are here now, so they took lots of pictures & we have those - thank goodness.

Here are some fun things we did with Grandpa & Grandma:

Lily had her 2 week check up. She was already up to 8 pounds and 1 ounce.

We went to Lewis Farms for homemade ice cream.

We toured the Battleship North Carolina.

We went to the beach one evening.

Lily loves Grandpa & Grandma!
