welcoming baby PEYTON

A friend of mine, from church, is due with their first baby in just a few short weeks.  Today we threw Dana a baby shower to welcome baby Peyton.

Dana's sister, niece & sister-in-law were able to come too.

Peyton's nursery will be grey, orange & teal so I ran with that color scheme.  Dana LOVES peeps, and since this is the week after Easter I figured we might as well use some peeps for decoration.

"Guess when Peyton will make his first peep"

I commissioned (i.e. asked) Jake to make a pallet "P" for Peyton's room.

We had some yummy snacks.

Drinks & Dessert

A little favor for our guests...a peep of course!

The MENU: Caprese Pasta Salad, Greek Pasta Salad, Pretzel thins with Dips (Whipped Feta Dip, Mustard Dip, Nutella Dip), Veggie Tray with Spinach Ranch Dip, Grapes & Strawberries with Vanilla Creme, Chex mix with Cashews & M&Ms, Chocolate cupcakes with Reese's Peanut Butter Frosting

Spring break....the FUN stuff

As I mentioned HERE, we worked hard over spring break, but we also had a lot of fun! The weather was amazing. Jake's sister Bekah was here for 10 days & Jake's parents were here for a week.  Here are some of the fun things we did:

We went for lots of walks to the park with Auntie Bekah (at least 3-5 times).

We went to the beach at least 3 times (the weather was so beautiful last week).

 Picking seashells...

Enjoyed some yummy strawberry shortcake that Grandma made.

To the beach again....

And again....

Digging, digging & more digging.....

Hanging out, playing, reading books...

Girls morning downtown, while the boys golfed.

Thanks Bekah for taking so many pictures #photo credits.

BEFORE & in-progress AFTER: Exterior Painting of Our House

This week Jake painted the ENTIRE exterior of our house. We bought the paint back in the fall & then had an unusually cold & long winter for North Carolina.  Jake says he is 95% done.  There is still some touch ups & cutting in to finish, but overall it is beautiful!

See more details of the front entry before & after HERE.
