#babyA (now #babyB)

Tuesday evening (1/20) a 4 month old baby BOY joined our family.

We got the call about #babyA at 4:36 pm. I called Jake. Jake was almost home. He walked in the door; we talked; we called back DSS & we were in the car headed to pick him up before 5 pm. That was fast!

I wish I would have recorded the conversation in the car ride.  I don't think Lily or Ella quit talking the whole trip. They love being big sisters & they are really excited about this baby.

Today we found out that #babyA is actually #babyB. He goes by his middle name.
I am thankful to report that having a baby again is just like riding a bike.  We are back to diapers, middle of the night feedings, and formula. I've never done formula before so that's new. #babyB is so sweet and little. He is such a peanut!

a room for TWO

Since we moved into our MASTER SUITE two weekends ago, the next phase was to move the girls into our old master bedroom (see this post for the original before pictures). Lily & Ella have been sharing Lily's room since early this summer so they have already been experiencing the fun of sharing a room. This was always the long term plan - for them to share a room & eventually be in our old master bedroom. The girls moved in the middle of this past week & they're super super excited!

I spotted these multi-colored stripes almost 2 years ago & I knew I wanted to do this once the girls were in this space.  The picture even had the colors I wanted to use.  The stripe colors were in Lily & Ella's baby quilts that Mom Flaming made.  We also already had the paint from previous rooms & projects. We added the pink stripe for fun (and Lily loves pink)!

A little reading area

I just love having their clothes organized & in one spot.  Since this summer, Lily's clothes were in her room & Ella's clothes were in her old room, which became #kboy's room from October thru December. It was a crazy mess & hard to find things.

Saving money....

Jake just finished framing this art today.

We had this picture blown up for the girls birthday party.  We've been saving it ever since their party for their new room. This post was our inspiration for making this art.

I'd say it turned out pretty cute!

Before & After: Master Suite

It's been a long road of remodeling to get to this point (and that's a huge understatement).  We are finally almost "done" remodeling our home. The laundry room still needs some love.
Jake has been working so SO hard to complete our master suite. He has come home every day after school, since early October, and headed to the back to work (mainly to tile). I am so thankful for him, his hard work ethic, his desire to learn, his fearlessness when it comes to trying something new & doing it.  Our master suite has turned out amazing!  Yes, there are still some little things that need to be done (touching up wall & trim paint, caulk in a few places, etc...) but we are moved in!

We snagged these chairs & the above art on our IKEA trip.

Jake is planning to build us a pallet bed in the near future.

Remember these night stands? So glad we are finally using them.

The ceiling Jake did is so beautiful.

Remember this dresser?

We also picked up these wardrobes at IKEA.
Notice the step up into the master bath on the other side of the wardrobe. Ignore the can of stain.

 This bathroom turned out AMAZING!

We used the existing cabinetry.  We revived them with a fresh coat of paint in a great color & glass hardware.

This fan will be fabulous on those hot summer days when you start sweating as soon as you step out of the shower (especially after a hard workout).

Our butcher block countertop & backsplash.

More pictures of the awesome shower that Jake built.
We exposed the exterior brick wall & painted it with pool paint to prevent moisture & mildew.

Linear drain & river rock floor

Toilet Room

We also got this sink & vanity on our IKEA trip.

We still have a few WANTS on our list to cozy it up back here (drapes, a rug under the seating area, throw pillows on the chairs, possibly new bedding, art & accessories)....but those are wants, not needs. We are loving our new luxury get-away.

Where are the Before & After pictures, you asked? I guess I should warn you before I post all the BEFORE pictures....this area was an addition to the original home.  At some point, the previous owners added a 2 car garage, then they transformed the 2 car garage into a master bath (entrance from one of the bedrooms in the house) and a hair salon (with an outside entrance). Here are the before & after pictures:

BEFORE (the salon and notice behind me & Ella is the door into the half bath for patrons)

AFTER (the master bedroom)

BEFORE (to the left was the time machine tub; I can't locate that picture)

AFTER (this is the same corner)

BEFORE (the toilet room; we put a doorway in to the left)

OMO = MOM

"Hey, Mom? Is this how you spell mom?" (OMO)

We are having fun doing K4 at home this year.  I can not believe that Lily will be off to kindergarten next year.  Time has flown!
