Friday in Washington DC

Back in April, Jake was presented with an opportunity to attend a work related conference in Washington DC. We talked details through and decided we should all go! We have been wanting to start doing family vacations with our kids and not just to see family. We would like to create memories with the 6 of us.  This was the perfect opportunity! We were even more excited when we researched DC and saw that all the museums are FREE!
We did some more research at our local library prior to our trip. This was so fun and the kids were even more excited after reading all about Washington DC.

We left our house Friday morning around 8:30 and drove to DC. It was a pretty smooth drive until about 25 miles out.  Then we hit some major traffic.  We got to our cute AirBnB a little after 3pm.  Aunt Anna also joined us.  She flew in and then took an Uber to the AirBnB.  This cute little 3 bedroom, 1 bath house was just PERFECT space for the 7 of us.

We could also see the Air Force Memorial & Arlington from the AirBnB.

We had to get our bearings Friday night.  We ended up doing a lot of walking, had a difficult time finding a place for dinner, and we got rained on in the process, but we made memories and enjoyed dinner at Wiseguy Pizza.

After dinner we walked to the Law Enforcement Memorial.  Anna has been to Washington DC for Police Week twice. She helped represent Carmel, IN.
