Wren is TWO

I have to say, this is an EXTRA-special birthday since this girl is officially a Flaming.

We started off the day with birthday waffles.

Followed by presents

Benny, Wren and I spent the morning playing at the Children's Museum of Wilmington.  We have a membership there and LOVE that place!

That evening was the annual Foster Care Christmas party at Scooter's. So how fun? We went to Scooter's with many of our friends on Wren's birthday.

After that party, we came home for some birthday cupcakes.

Before & After - Backyard & Screened-In Patio

The backyard and patio have been a MAJOR work in progress over the last 5 years.  We have done things in many, many, many steps: tearing out a chain link fence, cutting down trees, landscaping, building the shed, adding a boxed in turf area, the chevron brick patio, building the fireplace and screening in the patio. Well, we are possibly and finally done.... until Jake has another idea. We are loving this new space!

Taken way back in October of 2012. All the in-between photos are linked in the above paragraph.

It's almost magical out here at night!

Now to the specific screened-in patio pictures:

Thanksgiving with the Forman's

I had some awesome helpers for Thanksgiving dinner prep.  On Wednesday morning, Lily & Ella helped me with the pies and EVERYONE "helped" with the zweibach.

The Forman crew arrived around 4pm on Wednesday.
We had so much fun while they were here.

Grandpa & Grandma visit NC

We just enjoyed a whole week with Grandpa and Grandma here.  We had such a nice time together and the week went way too quickly!  Grandpa & Grandma came to attend our adoption celebration, which is a separate post.  Here are the other fun things we did this week, besides the party.

Visiting Lily & Ella at school

LOTS of playing outside - the weather was awesome

Playing with cousin Blake.

The weather was so nice while everyone was here.  We spent a lot of time outside and in our new screened in porch.

There is nothing like enjoying a meal with family.

Ice cream

Oceanic Peir (and photo-shopping the Levang family in)

Thanks so much for coming to visit, Grandpa & Grandma!
We already miss you so much.

Forever Family - Adoption Celebration

Saturday, November 4 we had an adoption celebration with family and friends.  We had beautiful weather, a great turnout and a lot of fun.

We had a breakfast party with Duck Donuts, fruit and coffee from Port City Java.

It meant so much to us that Dad & Mom Tuttle as well and Jon, Em & Blake made the trip to come celebrate with us.

Lots of friends came too!

The kids had a blast with bubbles

We held the party at the "secret park" right behind our house.  It has a full court plus a half court basketball court. Playground. Softball field. Paved path all the way around. Two pavilions.  It was perfect! We also had corn hole, bocci ball, lawn bowling, basketballs, chalk and bubbles.

This sweet lady, in the white zip-up is Jeri. She was Benny & Wren's GAL.  She was fabulous! We just love her and are so thankful for her.
