A Quick Stop in Washington DC

We made plans to spend Thanksgiving in PA with our dear friends. We decided to stop by DC on our way to PA. We let the kids skip school on Tuesday and do our own family field trip to DC. We did DC back in 2018 with little kids. It was fun then, but this was so much fun with big kids! I got a little teary-eyed when I realized that when we did our previous trip, Lily was younger than Wren is now. How can that be?

Wednesday morning we got up and hit the DC Zoo for a few hours. It was a great morning. Most of the animals were active and visible. Wren especially loved that all the big cats were on the prowl. Here is our 2018 zoo experience.

Fall Getaway

Jake & I snuck away to Surf City for TWO nights this past weekend (Friday & Saturday). It was so great! Jake suggested this last month, prior to Rooted in Hope. We needed a few nights away, so I found a sitter and blocked the nights.
