kids chair - Before & After

As I said earlier, I got this chair on Wednesday for $2.99 at ReStore.  I couldn't pass it up, but the bear fabric had to go. We still do not have furniture in our playroom.  I knew this chair would be perfect for the girls to sit in (which they already love it!).

Last night, once the girls were in bed, I sewed a new sling seat for it.  I bought this fabric 7 years ago when our family went to China.  It is just perfect for the "new" chair. I am probably going to use the rest of the fabric to recover some outdoor pillows for our adirondack chairs.

Lily is sitting in it right now while we watch the Notre Dame game.

girls & projects

Ella loves dogs. She can spot a "doggie" from blocks away!

Spying on the granola in the oven (yesterday after nap....the house smelled SO good).

I've been regularly working on (ie...organizing & reorganizing) my pantry.  I would love to have everything in glass jars, but that's a project for another day.  I did a few more things this week using things I ALREADY had. We love re-purposing!

Love my old Coca-Cola crate - $3 find on our getaway weekend.

The "grocery" sign was a naptime project last week or the week before...it's a blur.  Once again, using things I had laying around the house. I sewed the paper pennant this week.

My other taste-tester, checking on the apple cinnamon muffins for breakfast this morning.

A little gift for a sweet baby boy.

FIND of the WEEK:  $2.99 at ReStore  I am planning on recovering it - hopefully tonight!  I already have fabric that I bought 7 years ago in China.
I'll show you the AFTER once I finish it - say goodbye to the bears!

pallet art

We have had this pallet ready for an art project for a while.  Jake put the pallet together back when he did the pallet wall in our cute shed at our old house (sigh...i SO wish we could have brought the shed with us to our new house).  After we finished the hall bath, I knew we should use the pallet in there & behind the toilet. It was so hard decided WHAT to do with the pallet (art, scripture, song lyrics, etc...).  Well, I finally decided & here it is!  Of course there are parts of it that I don't love (i.e. the P on praise), but overall we love it. Jake gave his approval too.

"Let us sing of God's great love
all our earthly days and give Him praise He's worthy of
now and for always."

This is the song (and verse) I walked down the aisle to on our wedding day.
You can listen to is HERE.

This one song was our whole processional.  The bridesmaids, groomsmen & the kids all came down to it.  Then I came down on the final verse (after the organ interlude).  It was great...in fact so great that my sister, Lindsay, did the same thing for her wedding last summer.

I wrote the lyrics on the pallet with chalk & then painted over-top of the chalk.

and we're back at it

We took a little break from ALL the house projects. We worked really hard up until our house appraisal for our refinancing.  That's a huge blessing to share - our house appraisal came back at nearly 4x (yes, FOUR times) what we paid for the house!  God is good. This weekend we decided to get back to work.  Jake ordered the plank board for our ceiling the other week & it came in Friday night, just in time for the weekend. Here is the earlier playroom post.

Ella is walking & getting into everything!

Lily loves jumping from the top step - YES, I am that Mom that makes all the other mom's nervous. Ha!

Plank board is up.
Ceiling is trimmed out & caulked.
Next is the paint.

We did some other fun things this weekend.  Jake & I went on a date Saturday night!  LOVE having time together.  I also cut Lily's hair.  I didn't take a picture of the side/back view....which is the cutest part because it's angled & then stacked up the back. I'll have to do that this week.

We did some other fun projects this weekend, but we'll have to save that for another day!
