Tuesday in Washington DC

We did some laundry and packing before we dropped off Aunt Anna at Reagan Airport. It was SO GREAT having Aunt Anna with us in DC!! We all loved it.
Then the kids and I headed to Arlington National Cemetery.  We walked to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  We even saw the changing of the guard at 11am.

We were leaving Arlington and were stopped to let this funeral procession through.

Our AirBnB owners were very accommodating and allowed us to do a late checkout at 4:30pm.  So we had lunch and naps there.  Played again at the park and then loaded up the van. We drove the 2 minutes to pick up Daddy from his conference and then headed home to Wilmington. Yup, Jake walked to and from his conference each day. It was a 5 minute walk to the Sheraton.

LOTS of memories were made and this was just such a great family trip!

Monday in Washington DC

Monday. 9am. Aunt Anna got us a tour of the Capitol through Congress Woman Brooks office.  We even had passes to see the Senate and the House of Representatives.

In the Congresswoman's office & on her couch!

After our snack at the Capitol Cafeteria, we walked over to the National Museum of the American Indian.

Jake picked us up, outside of the museum, on his long lunch break, for his work conference, and took us back to the AirBnB for lunch and naps. After naps, we read, hit the park at the end of our street. Yes! An Ethiopian bakery 2 doors down and a park at the other end of the street!!!

Jake's conference was over at 5:30 and we had a 6:15 reservation at Tupelo Honey Cafe.

Sunday in Washington DC

Sunday morning we were ready to hit some museums.

Museum of Natural History

We grabbed a picnic lunch at the food trucks - that was yummy!
Then on to the Air & Space Museum

And some stroller naps...

Carousel + Ice Cream

We then walked to the Museum of African American History but we were unable to get in. We will have to save that for our next DC trip.  Instead we did the Museum of American History and then headed back to the AirBnB for dinner at home & an on-time bed time.

After the zoo, we rested back at our AirBnB. Lily & Ella explored with me. We walked 1 minute to the Dama Bakery (Ethiopian bakery). The cookies were yummy!

Lincoln Memorial

Jake took at Uber from the Lincoln Memorial back to the parking garage to get the van. We were done walking for the day.
