SnOw DaY

We had a SnOw DaY on Tuesday.  Jake was off school & then he had a 2 hour delay on Wednesday morning.  It was so nice to spend the day together as a family. Here is what we did:

The girls woke up early, very early, & saw the snow falling.  They were too excited to sleep.

In order to keep them inside, before 7 am, we made banana bread for breakfast. Lily mashed the bananas, while Ella & I put the other ingredients together.  You can't beat homemade banana bread fresh (& hot) out of the oven.  The girls did the sprinkles on their mini muffins.

The boys slept in while the girls finished the banana bread. I caught Jake in the act of buttering pieces 7, 8, & 9 of his banana bread.

We played outside twice.  Our kids don't last too long in the snow & cold. It doesn't help that we don't have proper (waterproof) snow gear in North Carolina.

We warmed up with hot chocolate.

We watched Swiss Family Robinson, took naps, played Monopoly & created with play dough.

Ella is eating apple while playing with play dough.

The snow was fun while it lasted.
We'll probably have to wait another couple of years for more snow.
