Grandpa & Grandma come to NC

Jake's parents were just here visiting for the past week.  They haven't been down here to visit for three years, back when we painted the exterior of our house. A lot has changed since then. We had a packed week; here's some of what we did.

Right away Thursday morning, Ella had a zwieback lesson from Grandma.  Grandma is great at baking bread!
While the bread rose, we went and saw Jake at his downtown office.  When we got back home it was time to form the zweiback. Ella really did a great job.  She loves learning & helping in the kitchen.

Friday, February 17, was Mom's birthday.  We had a birthday waffle breakfast and presents.
In the morning we saw the Arboretum and shopped at Blue Moon.  Jake worked a half day, so while the littles napped at home with me, the others headed to Bitty & Beau's Coffee. We then had a birthday dinner at Bluewater, down on the inter-coastal waterway.  After dinner we came home and enjoyed cherry pie, Mom's favorite.

Saturday morning Dad & Jake golfed while Mom had a massage.

In the afternoon we headed to Wrightsville Beach & the Oceanic Pier.

Monday was President's Day and we all went to Topsail Beach.  We hunted for shark's teeth! I think we came home with 15 or more.

Tuesday we went downtown and enjoyed a walk on the Riverwalk & Pier 33.
Wednesday we got to have lunch with Lily at school, before heading to the airport.
