grandma's here!

My mom flew in Friday afternoon, she is here until Monday, June 4.  I really thought that the baby would be here by now, but since we are STILL waiting we are having fun while we wait.  Emily came in Friday evening too.

We, mainly Jake, have been doing some work with landscaping around the shed.  Jake built us some raised flower beds.  On Saturday, we did some planting.

The bed in the foreground is plants (lily, mum, coleus, sweet potato vine, phlox, etc...).

Jake planted 4 grapevines along the shed.

This is our vegetable/fruit garden (tomatoes, cucumber, basil, squash, watermelon, strawberries).

This week we are going to work on the vertical palette garden.

Mother's Day 2012

I had such a nice Mother's Day.  I am so thankful that God has blessed me with a loving husband, beautiful daughter & another baby coming soon.  

I braided Lily's hair on Sunday for the first time.

Also notice the raised flower boxes that Jake built me to the right of the shed.  I am hoping to use them for a vegetable & fruit garden. I already have strawberries started in a pot.

Friday, Jake & Lily brought me flowers & Starbuck's.

Saturday, Jake & Lily took me to get a pedicure.  It was wonderful, especially after the race that morning.

Sunday, Jake & Lily made me breakfast (fried egg in bread, smoothie & coffee).  Then they took me out for lunch too.

I am blessed & loved.

a 5K at 37 weeks

I have been running & training for a 5K, with my friends in Grace Running Girls, since the new year.  We met every Tuesday & Thursday afternoon to run & then again on Saturday mornings.  I loved the accountability & it was really fun to do with these girls.

TODAY was the Patriot Rush 5K.

Close to the finish.  Jake & Lily came back & met me, as well as some of the Grace Running Girls.  So sweet! Jake & Lily ran with me to the finish.  Jake & Lily did the 5k in 27:17.  The baby & I did it in 32:28  (a lot slower than my time LAST YEAR).

Saturday at the Beach

The Otto's came down for the day on Saturday.  We went to Wrightsville Beach for a few hours.  We parked ourselves under the Oceanic Pier which was perfect!  Great shade for baby Charlotte, nice & cool, and we didn't have to worry so much about sunscreen for the kids.

After the beach, we headed to Lewis Farms for some homemade ice cream.  I left my camera in the car.  Too bad, because the kids were covered in ice cream.  It was priceless.
