TWO birthdays, ONE party

Since Ella & Lily's birthdays are less than 2 weeks apart we decided to do ONE BIG party. I am thinking we will be doing many combined birthday parties in the future.

Jake had this picture of the girls printed off.  Staples will do a blueprint size for only $3!

We did a dessert bar with double chocolate cake, angel food cake & pound cake.  Cakes could be topped with whipped cream, blueberries, strawberries, chocolate sauce & sprinkles.

We had a small gift for all our little friends who came to celebrate with us.

The gift included: a note pad, stickers, crayons & smarties.

I am loving having this chalkboard to change out for different occasions.

The birthday girls all ready for their party.

The party was a drop in from 3-5 pm on Saturday.  I got my camera out to take pictures of the kids playing & doing bubbles in the backyard.  I took one picture, set the camera on the grill & then totally forgot about it.  Ugh...I wanted a picture of all the kids & our sweet friends who came to celebrate.

Auntie Em was able to come up for the party.  She was a HUGE help.  She washed & cut all the berries for the party - thank you, Emily!

Our Sunday afternoon tradition - popcorn after nap!

According to Lily:
Daddy is funny when he TICKLES US.
Daddy loves to eat MEATBALLS.
Daddy is 7 YEARS OLD.
Daddy's favorite thing to do is to EAT DONUTS.
I love Daddy because I LOVE HIM.

I think Lily was a little confused if this was about her or Daddy.

old friends are the best friends

My sweet friend Jocelyn, & her family, came to visit this past Thursday - Saturday.  I met Jocelyn when I was in 5th grade & she was in 6th grade. We have kept in contact over the many years. We hadn't seen each other since my wedding (almost 6 years ago!).  It was so great to catch up with her & Alan & meet their two girls.
We had so much fun with their girls.

A man downtown played a song for Lily & Abigail. They loved it.

These girls had a blast playing.
In fact, Lily & Abigail are two peas in a pod. Seriously.
1. They LOVE to sing.
2. They love to sing FROZEN.
3. They love to sing LOUD!

celebrating TWO

We had a busy, but fun day on Saturday celebrating Ella turning TWO.

We started off the morning with a yard sale (it was the only weekend that would work for us & some friends to do a combined yard sale).  Jake ran out & grabbed Dunkin Donuts - our girls LOVE donuts & they don't get them very often.

After naps we headed to Ruby Tuesday (with a gift card + coupons) for an early dinner.  They even gave Ella a red velvet cupcake.

This girls knows the proper way to eat a cupcake.

We left the restaurant & headed to the beach for a while.  I didn't lug the camera out to the beach with me, but Jake took a really cute video of Ella.  It's posted on Instagram.
When we got home Ella opened presents.

We sang "Happy Birthday" & she blew out TWO candles.
