Getting Ready

Tomorrow is 2 months until our due date. I can't believe how fast this is going. We're getting ready for baby flaming. We're so excited to meet this little one.

We received our pack & play at the baby shower. I had to set it up; it's so cute. LOVE the owl fabric.

This past Friday we bought a "new" car. We got a Mercury Mariner. Jake's Jeep is now listed on Craig's List. His Jeep doesn't have a back seat, so we needed another family car.

Tonight we got the crib. Some friends of ours gave it to us. We're going to paint it & then start setting up the baby's room.

We also ordered our stroller & car seat online. It should be here the beginning of May. As soon as we have the car seat, we're ready! Well, at least we can bring the baby home from the hospital if it decides to arrive early.

Baby Shower

This weekend my Mom & Lindsay flew in from Minneapolis & Emily came up from Charleston for my baby shower. My cousin, Katie, also came up from Greenville for the weekend. SO fun to have my mom & sisters here for the shower.

Azalea Festival 2010

Jake & I did the Azalea Festival Garden Tour this year with our friends, the Attoe's. We had such a fun day. The Attoe's came to our house for breakfast on Saturday & then we headed out on the tour. We didn't get to all the gardens on Saturday, so we continued the fun on Sunday afternoon.

The BIG Dig 2010

(as Jake is affectionately calling it)
Here is another project that Jake recently started & is finishing this week while he is on spring break -- widening the driveway. He's been parking the Jeep on the grass.

Next step is filling the spacing with sand. Then I think it'll be finished.

Uses for Fence Pickets

How many things can you build with old fence pickets? Glad you asked! Last summer we ripped out a fence in the back yard & saved all the pickets. So far Jake has made:
  1. Shelving & a Work Bench for our Back Shed (see pics on facebook)
  2. Shelving for our Laundry Area (see pics on facebook)
  3. A Table (see below picture)
  4. And the current project is. . . . . ADIRONDACK CHAIRS!
Jake found a plan for building adirondack chairs here. And we started the construction.

Cutting the pieces:
(See the table Jake built last summer with fence pickets.)

Next Steps will be priming the wood & painting them red.
Will post a final picture soon.
