Merry Christmas

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

Wren is FOUR

I really can't believe it, but today WREN turned four
We enjoyed a pancake breakfast, her choice, and then opened gifts.

Opening her gift from Benny, which he picked out all by himself.

Playing sharks & mermaids (birthday gifts from Levang's)

We went and jumped at Flip N Fly mid-morning.

Lots of playing was done today. She kept saying, "I love my new Cinderella watch, and I love my horse...." She kept listing all her gifts and saying thank you. It was really cute.
Wren requested eggs & bacon for her birthday dinner. It was enjoyed by all - we LOVE breakfast for dinner. She also requested chocolate cake.
You are such a joy to our family. We love how much you have grown this last year. Not just in height, but also in talking/conversing, showing your personality, learning your letters, biking and swimming.

Happy 4th Birthday, WREN!

Thanksgiving with Family

Our FLORIDA family joined us for Thanksgiving this year. We loved having Luke & Jess, Elijah, Vincent, Isaiah & Josh with us! We had a lot of fun playing outside, going to the park (3 different parks while they were here) and catching up. I even had extra help prepping the turkey on Thanksgiving morning.

Baby M was held a lot and loved on even more!

Our Thanksgiving Feast: Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Cranberries, Cornbread Stuffing, Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Green Beans, Corn, Rustic Italian Loaf
Plus Pumpkin Pie with Whipped Cream and Carmel Apple Pie with Ice Cream

Post Feast bike and walk at Smith Creek Park

party of SEVEN

We brought this little peanut home today.
Baby M was born on 10/31. He was discharged from the hospital today.
We will love him for as long as they need us to.

Tummy Time (pic from 11/24)

It was really sweet.  The kids came in from playing outside and one by one they all laid down and checked him out. First Ella, then Wren, then Lily, then Benny. We've had a good (and busy) first week and they love him.

JAKE has been training for the Battleship NC Half Marathon.

Packet pick up last night was on the Battleship NC.

The route for this morning's race.

Pre-race: we're ready to cheer Daddy on!

Post-race: notice the girls plugging their noses

So proud of Daddy and all his hard work!

Cape Fear Kite Festival

Last year, was our families first time going to the Cape Fear Kite Festival.  We absolutely loved it and knew we needed to make it a yearly tradition. It was a windy day but the kites were beautiful!

Benny lost a tooth!

While Lily and I were at Medieval Times, this guy pulled out his own FIRST tooth!

Medieval Times with Lily

Lily's Fourth grade class had a field trip to Medieval Times in Myrtle Beach, SC. Jake was off of work and able to watch Benny & Wren, so I was able to go with Lily.  We had a wonderful time! Lily absolutely loved the whole experience.

Benny - FIVE

We celebrated BENNY turning FIVE all day today!

Benny is such a cool kid.  He makes us laugh on a regular basis.  Benny currently loves LEGOs, Batman, swimming, reading books with Mom and riding his bike.

Opening gifts, after his birthday breakfast of scones and nectarines.

Sweet friends of ours just moved back to Kenya, Africa.  They were certain Benny needed this hand-me-down John Deere tractor and trailer. So we saved it and gave it to Benny on his birthday.

We hit the pool in the morning, played a lot, enjoyed a pizza dinner at home and then went to Flip N Fly after dinner.  Once our jump session was over, we headed home for his Carmelita cookie cake. We love you Benjamin Lee Flaming! What a gift you are to our family.

meeting Charlie Grace

We made a trip to Statesboro, GA, this weekend to meet our newest nice, Charlie Grace. Although I don't have a photo to prove it, my parents were also there!  It was great spending time with Jon, Em & Blake and my parents.  The highlight was definitely all the baby snuggles!

Jon & Em have a pool so we spend a lot of the weekend swimming.
