Home Owners!

We closed on our house TODAY at 1:30pm.
(front view of the house)
(corner lot/side view of the house)

This has been a LONG process with many speed bumps, but we are so thankful that God has blessed us with this house.
We locked in on our rate back on April 13. We were initially scheduled to close on May 15. Due to the house being a short sale & the bank needing endless paperwork, our closing moved MULTIPLE times (at least 5 times). Thankfully, everything worked out & we got the house. This is a house that needs a lot of work (elbow grease) & TLC. Jake & I are planning on posting regular pictures, updates & videos as to the progress on our home.

Added Blessings:
  • We were able to get the keys to the house Saturday evening. There is a TON of cleaning & scouring & scrubbing to do and we were glad to be able to start this past weekend. The previous owner had 3 cats & 2 dogs. . .need I say more?

  • The previous owner left her lawn equipment for us! We have a lawn mower, edger, hedge trimmers, loppers, garden hoses, grass seeder, roto-tiller, etc...

  • We have an apple & pear tree in the back yard. Can't wait to try out my green thumb.

Picnic at Wrightsville Beach

Today, after work, I met a client down at Wrightsville Beach. I am helping this friend with her son's wedding that will be at the beach in July. After my meeting, I was going to meet Jake to go for a walk on the beach. Jake showed up with supper from McAlister's. We had a nice picnic on the beach followed by a walk. He's a keeper!

My Parents Came to NC

My Dad & Mom flew in Wednesday, June 10.
We had a great visit which was packed full of fun things to do & some travelling.
Thursday - Downtown Wilmington on the Boardwalk
The Cotton Exchange
This is the alley where Jake & I took one of our engagement pictures.
We had "lunch" (ice cream only) at Kilwin's.
They have amazing ice cream.
Jake is eyeing up all the sweets!

Thursday afternoon, we were able to show my parents the house we are in the process of buying. The closing keeps moving. Hopefully, we will close this Friday.
We went down to Wrightsville Beach Thursday evening.
Mom & Dad got there pants a little wet. . .they weren't rolled up high enough.

Friday morning we got up early & headed to Greenville, SC for my cousin, Matthew & Rachel's wedding.
We met my sisters, Lindsay & Emily, in Greenville.

We even got to sneak in a quick visit with my good friends, Joel & Kerri. It was so fun meeting their kids, Eva & Jude. I hadn't seen Joel & Kerri since my graduation from BJU!

Dinner at McAlister's with the family.

Tuttle girl cousins at Matthew & Rachel's wedding.

Jake & Me after the Wedding.

After the wedding, we headed to downtown Greenville to Spill the Beans for some coffee & ice cream.
Saturday morning, we had a Tuttle family brunch at Katie's house. After the brunch, we all headed to Emily's house in Charleston.
I installed the drapes & valence that I made for Emily's dining room window. Emily's house is coming together nicely.
Sunday we did an awesome boat cruise of Kiawah Island.
Most of my pictures from the boat cruise didn't turn out, but it was GREAT! We even saw dolphins.

Jake & I headed back to Wilmington late Sunday afternoon. My parents came back up, with Emily, on Wednesday evening. We did some shopping in Wilmington on Thursday. Dad & Mom flew out early Friday morning. Friday was also Dad's birthday! It was so fun to have them come see us.
We can't wait to have many more family & friends visit (HINT, hint).

Sydney & Reiley

Saturday evening, Jake & I watched my cousin's two girls. They are so sweet. We love it when they come to visit.
Sydney & Meg doing a puzzle.

Jake & Sydney "playing" outside.

Little Reiley (5 weeks) slept in her carseat the WHOLE time. I didn't even get to pull her out & hold her. :( Party pooper.

Weekend in MN & Another Wedding

I flew to MN this past Wednesday for Jess & Luke's Wedding.
Jake flew up on Friday morning.

Went to Panera, for breakfast with Kristina, on Thursday morning.

A visit to MN isn't complete without a Twins game. ALL of us (any family in town) went to the Twins vs. RedSox game on Thursday at noon.

Friday we set up for the reception. Friday evening was the rehearsal & dinner. Then the girls had a party with Jess & the guys went out with Luke.

Flaming & Forman "kids" minus little kids.

Love this man!

The Groomsmen

Congrats to Luke & Jess!

Me & Anna after the reception.

Tuttle family (minus the bride & groom)

There are LOTS of pictures on facebook. Check them out!
