celebrating 37

TODAY is the actual day, but we celebrated THIS guy turning 37 all weekend! Jake is a wonderful, caring, serving and loving husband.  He is an amazing father to the 4 children God has given and entrusted to us. I am so grateful for JAKE!

Our celebration plans:

Weeks prior, I had lined up a sitter for Saturday morning from 10am-1pm.  Jake and I enjoyed some time together and did the Wilmington Coffee Crawl.  We DID see all 5 coffee shops, but we did NOT have 5 cups of coffee.

Birthday breakfast - cinnamon rolls

Some special gifts the kids picked out.

 Birthday "cake" - apple pie

HAPPY 37th BIRTHDAY Jake-Babe-Daddy!

Levang's visit NC

We just had a GREAT visit with the Levang's.  They drove here from Minnesota and arrived late Tuesday night. We enjoyed a couple of trips to the Children's Museum of Wilmington.

And OH THE IRONY - we got snow while our MINNESOTA cousins were here. The snow started Wednesday night and we woke up to a beautiful winter wonderland. The girls were off of school Wednesday through Monday due to weather. That was such a blessing; we had more cousin time since they didn't have school.

The kids had a blast playing in the snow, building two snowmen and sledding, on boogie boards & skim boards.  The skim board worked the best and was the fastest.

We enjoyed a couple of games of bowling too.

We even made a quick stop at the beach and saw SNOW on the beach and ICE on the Oceanic Pier.

And just in case you were thinking, "man, they've had a lot of house guests." YOU ARE RIGHT. We have had family come stay with us every two weeks since our Adoption Party - then Thanksgiving - then mid-December - then just after New Year's. It's been a fun couple of months making memories with our cousins, aunts & uncles and grandparents!
