Aunt Bekah's Visit

Auntie Bek was just here visiting us this past week. Boy did we pack in the fun! We enjoyed lots of reading time and game playing. We did the beach: Blockade Runner, Topsail Beach, Chrystal Pier, Wrightsville Beach. We ventured out on a rainy day to the $1 movie at Regal. We got out the paints and created some masterpieces. We enjoyed a dinner at Chop't. We also explored the Cape Fear Museum one morning.  Here are the photo highlights:

Mini Myrtle Beach Vacation with Friends

Our sweet friends, the Hrovath's, were in Myrtle Beach on vacation this past week. We booked two nights on VRBO and met them there to catch up again this summer. Wednesday morning we left Wilmington, and drove to Jocelyn's parents home. Last year, her parents purchased a second home in Murrells Inlet, SC. We swam & played all afternoon & then headed to Broadway at the Beach. We had a fun dinner at The Grumpy Monk.

Friday morning we enjoyed our last morning at our ocean front resort - Water's Edge Resort. We checked out at 10am and then headed back to the Herr's to swim. The kids had so much fun playing together.  We packed up, said our goodbye's and headed back to Wilmington at 2pm. 

There is something to be said for friends - what a gift!  The kids play and get along great. Jake & I love hanging out with Jocelyn & Alan. We so enjoy their family. Hoping for many more beach getaways with the Hrovath's.

Burn Bootcamp Transformation Story

Transformation Tuesday happens weekly at Burn Bootcamps across the nation. This past week, my story was featured for Burn Bootcamp Wilmington.

SUMMER fun

I realized its been awhile since I updated our blog so here are some random photos from our summer fun over the past few weeks. 

FREE ice cream cone at McDonald's from our local library's summer reading incentive.

Our local library has had some really fun summer programs for the kids.  This was a jewelry making activity.  Lily & Ella also attended a soap carving class and Lily attended a tie dye party for 6-12 grade. 

A morning at the Children's Museum of Wilmington.

The kids also completed the Barnes & Nobles summer reading plan.

We LOVE the Ogden Skate Park!

We met friends one morning at the Fort Fisher Aquarium. It's another one of our favorites! Afterwards we enjoyed a picnic lunch at the rocks at Kure Beach. We also hit their local Sumter Skatepark.

Airlie Gardens has free admission to New Hanover County Residents on the first Sunday of each month. We enjoyed the "It's Owl Good" hunt.
