Trip to See Aunt Emily

We decided to take a quick trip to Charleston this past weekend to see my sister, Emily.  Emily comes & visits us regularly but we haven't been down to see her in quite a while.  The girls did pretty well in the car.  Ella rocked it - slept the entire time both ways.  Lily had a few issues.  She kept saying "all done" when we were only less than an hour into the 4+ hour trip.  She also stayed awake the ENTIRE trip back on Sunday afternoon...no nap.  Here are some pics from our trip.

Thanks for the fun weekend, Emily.
We love you.

belly bowl

Remember THIS? - when we had a belly bowl mold done at 34 weeks pregnant with Lily.  Lily's finished belly bowl is HERE.  Well, we did it again!  The same sweet friend gave it to us as a gift for this pregnancy too.  We had the belly bowl mold done when I was 34 weeks pregnant with Ella.  It's so fun to see the difference in shape & size for both bowls.  Love how they turned out.

Father's Day 2012

Lily helped me make waffles with whipped cream & fruit salsa on top for our Father's Day breakfast.

The girls all ready for church.
Ella's been starting to focus on things which makes her go cross-eyed at times.

The GREATEST Dad with his two sweet girls.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, babe.
We love you more than you know!

more birthday celebrations

We decided to take Lily to the Fort Fisher Aquarium for her birthday.  Since we were in Carolina Beach, we HAD to stop at Britts Donut Shop.  Fun Saturday with the family!  On the way home we noticed that Polarberry was doing FREE frozen yogurt from 12-4.... we had to stop.  It's okay to eat ice cream for lunch when it's your birthday.

After our donuts, we headed to the aquarium.

The ONLY time all morning that Ella's eyes were open. She slept thru it all.

Guess Who's TWO?

We did dinner at Chic-Fil-A (Jake had a gift card).  Lily loves the SLIDE.  Ella slept through it all.

Reese's cake for her birthday.  A family favorite. Check out Lily's HUGE eyes.

Our family of FOUR.

 Taste testing.

She must have approved...drool on her chin.

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY, LILY!
We love you & can't imagine life without you.

ART for Ella's Room

I was waiting to see what gender Baby Flaming was to do the art for above the crib.
Since we have a sweet baby girl, Ella, I can now make some art.
Here is what I came up with:

I decided to take advantage of two sleeping girls on Saturday afternoon & do some sewing.

I used scraps from Ella's quilt & did some applique.

Jake made me the frames out of pallets.  I painted them.
We (mainly Jake) are doing a lot of pallet projects right now.  It's free & green.

I will probably also add some pictures from Ella's newborn photo shoot to the wall.  We had the photo shoot on Saturday; I can't wait to see how the pictures turned out.  HERE are more pictures of Ella's room.

SHED progress & update

Here are some projects Jake's been working on:

A cute little step stool for flowers on our front entry.

Ella naps while Daddy works.

Lily loves to help Daddy.

Testing out the chair Daddy's building Lily out of pallets.

Jake just finished one of the interior walls of the shed.  He used pallets to finish it.  It looks so good.

Ella continues to nap.

Lily OR Ella

I am sure that this is the FIRST of MANY posts like this.
We have a gender neutral outfit that we are planning to use to bring home all our babies from the hospital.  Here is the comparison.
Guess who...Lily or Ella?

It was so fun to get out the tub of girl clothes today & wash them up.
Thanks to my mom for washing & folding them all....now to organize it.

home sweet home

We headed home Friday morning from the hospital.  We were in the car by 11am....only 36 hours after arriving at the hospital.  We couldn't wait to get home to Lily, Emily and Grandma & get some real uninterrupted sleep.

A HUGE thanks to my mom & sister Emily.
They kept Lily for us (plus helped with house stuff & meals) while we were in the hospital.
