Ella did it again and made another recipe. Remember when she created a chocolate cake? Well, Ella really loves helping however she can in the kitchen. This week she tweaked a family favorite cookie recipe and created Darth Chocolate Cookies.

14 years
Jake & I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary on July 26.
We celebrated with a night away in early July. We snuck away to the beach house for a night, while the kids were in Wilmington with some dear friends. Everyone had a great time!
Acai Bowl at Divers Surf Cafe
On July 26, we celebrated our families birthday with dinner out all together followed by some spontaneous fun (each kid picked a place to go to). Dinner was at Panera, a family favorite and we can use up gift cards. The spontaneous fun included stopping at Marshalls, Dick's Sporting Goods, the pet store, Barnes & Nobles and H&M.

Making beach memories AGAIN
We just enjoyed almost a week with our sweet friends, the Hrovath's. A few months ago Jake texted Alan to see if they could fit in a beach trip this summer. The guys initiated this get together and the girls took over the planning & details towards the end. It was so fun to see them again. All the kids play so well together and we really had such a good time together! We adults love hanging out and catching up on life.

We even swapped kids two nights and did sleepovers. The big girls cut t-shirts, played games, and mixed up monster cookies. The night we had the little kids, they just went to bed. We didn't get back to our house until 9pm so they were tired out!

Jocelyn and I were able to sneak away for an early morning walk on July 4. The guys also let us go for an afternoon walk and grab coffee at The Daily Grind on Wednesday.
Our last night together we enjoyed dinner at Island Delights, some shopping, and then ice cream at Beach Bunny. We're working on trying out all the local places here at Surf City and Topsail.
We have absolutely loved seeing these friends over the years. In fact, we were trying to remember the years we've been able to meet up (since having kids) and spend time together. I had to look back and do some research.
