Another Beach House Update

Here's our next pictorial beach house update. Since my last update, we have made some MAJOR progress.

We hired out the plumbing, HVAC and electrical. Once all of that was done, we insulated the interior walls and hired out the spray insulation for the exterior walls.

The last two windows finally came in and we installed them.

We hired out the drywall hanging and mudding. It took a few WEEKS longer than projected.

One weekend we thought we were going out to start painting the interior and the drywall was not complete. So, we headed outside and sided the house with hardie board; I even learned how to use the circular saw. Later that week we caulked and painted the exterior. The kids helped paint the siding seams with brushes.  Jake & I rolled.

This past week we borrowed a paint sprayer and painted the inside. I selected the same color for the interior and exterior. We are using Sherwin Williams Snowbound. Since it is a shade of white, we are using the same paint color for ceilings and trim. This is actually saving us a lot of time of not having to cut in or change out paint.

Jake also installed the kitchen cabinets and built out of few extra spaces that we are making our own cabinets. It's looking more and more like a house.

100th Day of School

Today is the kids 100th day of school.  Both Benny & Wren had a project to do for the 100th day of school. They had to glue 100 things to half of a poster board. Well, we only had a few options of 100 things around the house that they could use. Here were their choices:

Wren chose 100 buttons.

Benny chose 100 shark's teeth!

Miss Jessie

We were able to participate in a surprise send off parade for our sweet friend Miss Jessie. She is leaving soon to head overseas for a survey trip and then returning to the USA to start intensive three months of training with Studio. We will miss her tremendously. Jessie is a dear friend, favorite babysitter and part of our Wilmington family.  We are also so excited to see how God will use her to share the gospel.
