Summer Fun - Wilmington Edition

I'm doing some summer catch up. We've had such a fun summer and it must be documented for our family photo album (ie. this blog). Here are the photo highlights.

A rare family photo - taken at a Haiti Awake Sponsors Appreciation Picnic.

The second week of July, Lily went to FUGE camp, with a group from our church.

Ella did some cooking school with Benny and Wren while Lily was off at camp.

Kayla & Lily loving camp on the Galaxy Night.

We've met friends at the Wrightsville Beach Touch Tank once a month. We've intentionally met some mom's who have their hands full with littles.  These Mom's are kind of where we were 6 years ago - 4 kids under the age of 5. We've helped them enjoy the touch tank by helping with the littles.

We've been to the library more times that I can recall or count.

Ella really loves to help however she can in the kitchen. She enjoys thinking up new recipes. She tweaked one of our favorite cookie recipes and created Darth Chocolate Cookies (also a Star Wars fan).

We've done a lot of reading this summer. The kids each earned their free book through the Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program.

We are loving our Aquarium membership, thanks to NHC DSS Foster Care. We took a day and visited the NC Fort Fisher Aquarium - always a favorite!

We picked up our neighbor one morning and she came with us to the Cape Fear Museum. A little brother just joined their family so we gave her mom a break. That was so fun!

Benny is loving all things Star Wars. He is always making something new with his Lego's. He also has been using A LOT of tape and foil to make creations.  This is his Boba Fett helmet. I joked with him that I may be wrapping up tape and foil for his upcoming birthday. He didn't think that was a good idea.

We went to Poplar Grove Farmer's Market one Wednesday. It's really fun looking at all the vendors and their local products. The girls decided to spend their own money on a fresh squeezed lemonade. The Poplar Grove grounds are open to the public on farmer's market mornings, so we also headed over to the stables to see all the animals - another of our favorite things to do.

We LOVE summer!
