Aunt Bekah visits NC

We just enjoyed a long weekend with Auntie Bek here! She was able to come a day early due to bad weather in Minneapolis. Here are our highlights:

Thursday lunch at school.

THURSDAY was gorgeous.
We were outside a lot and ended up hitting the beach for a quick hour before school pick up.

 FRIDAY was gorgeous.
Jake took off in the morning and we hit the beach again!

SATURDAY was cold & windy.
We headed to the girls school for a Fun Run raising funds for one of Lily's classmates, Perryn Miller, who is battling brain cancer.

SUNDAY was sunny but still a little cold.
After church we had lunch at Flaming Amy's Bowl.

Making Pan Bang Cookies with Aunt Bekah.

MONDAY we took the littles downtown to the library, followed by lunch with Jake.

Thanks for coming to North Carolina, Aunt Bekah.
We love you!

Leonard the Leopard Gecko

Lily's third grade class has a class pet this year. It is a leopard gecko named Leonard.  Her teacher has made a weekend sign up for caring for Leonard.  We enjoyed having him this past weekend.

January Birthday Celebrations

We celebrated Jake & My birthday's over the past few weeks.  Here are some highlights with minimal pictures.

January 16 MEG's birthday - We enjoyed a family breakfast that Jake made! Dinner was out at Panera.  Jake even brought home a cookie cake for dessert.

January 18-19 - Jake & I enjoyed a night away.  We ate dinner at Fork 'n Cork and spent the night downtown Wilmington. Saturday we enjoyed a whole day TOGETHER.  We did a lot of shopping/errands.

January 27 - We had dinner with friends so I offered to bring a birthday dessert to start the celebration, Peanut Butter Pie with a dark chocolate Oreo crust.

January 28 JAKE's birthday - We started the day with croissants for a birthday breakfast.  The birthday dinner celebration was at Carrabba's.

Employee of the YEAR

We are so proud of Jake and all of his hard work. Today he won Support Employee of the Year! Of course we had to celebrate at home too. The kids were so excited when I told them.  They helped make and decorate the cake and made cards.

New Year's Day 2019

It was a gorgeous New Year's Day here in Wilmington. We worked around the house this morning: put Christmas decor away until next year, caught up on laundry from our trip, restocked the fridge and cleaned up the yard. This afternoon we headed to play at the beach.

New Year's Eve 2018

Again this year we continued our tradition of a New Year's Eve waffle party.  However, we didn't invite friends since we weren't sure what time we'd get home from our trip to Georgia. We did sparklers this year and that was really fun!

LOVE this guy.

Happy New Year's

A Weekend in Georgia

Friday morning we headed to Statesboro, Georgia for a weekend with Jonathan, Emily & Blake. We hadn't seen them since our adoption party. How does that happen? We had such a great time catching up, playing, walking Blizzard, and cousins bonding.

Notre Dame played in the Cotton Bowl on Saturday. Unfortunately they lost.

Sunday was Emily's 38th Birthday so we celebrated! Saturday, during naps, Em & I went and got pedicures without kids. It was so nice to have uninterrupted time to catch up. Sunday after church we went out for lunch to celebrate.

We tried to get a picture of all the kids but didn't quite succeed....

 ...better luck next time.
