Here is the new oatmeal recipe I tried this morning:
Oh-So-Good Oatmeal
Taste of Home, Healthy Cooking
October/November 2008
- 3 cups water
- 2 medium tart apples, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
- Dash of salt
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup chopped almonds
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, bring water to boil. Add the apples, oats & salt; cook & stir for 5 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon & vanilla. Cover & let stand for 2 minutes. Sprinkle each serving with almonds.
