welcoming summer

Every spring, Lewis Farms opens and we head over to pick strawberries.  For sure we go more than once.  We love to pick strawberries in April and May and then blueberries in June.  Of course, we get ice cream EVERY time and maybe a few times in between. Their flowers are great too.

Thursday morning we met friends and continued the strawberry picking tradition.
Life sure is sweeter with friends....and strawberries...

 ...and strawberry ice cream!
We're planning to go back this weekend so Jake and Lily can enjoy some ice cream too.

off to Charleston

Friday, we picked up Lily from Wheel Day & headed to Charleston for a quick trip to meet up with family. On Thursday, my parents flew into Atlanta to meet their new grandson. Jon, Em & baby Blake were so sweet to share their time with my parents.  They all drove up to Charleston for some family time on Friday & Saturday.

We arrived in Charleston just before dinner on Friday.  We enjoyed a family dinner.  We all stayed at the same hotel, so that was great to have more time to catch up & hang out.  And you know what, 6 people in one hotel room wasn't so bad.  We had 2 queens and 2 pack & plays. Thankfully, everyone slept!
On Saturday we explored downtown Charleston (the battery, rainbow row, the pier, the market, a few parks) and then we headed home around 3 pm.  It was less than 24 hours but so great to see family.
Taking a break to feed the babies.

 The crew, minus the Levang's.

We made a pit stop at the candy store.  I told the girls they could pick one thing.  Lily picked a HUGE gummy snake.  I mean huge, probably 18-24 inches long.

Thankful for these crazy monkeys.

wheel day

On Friday, Lily had WHEEL DAY at her school.
It's a fundraiser, sorry if we sent you a letter.  She had to mail out 15 letters in order to be able to attend the "wheel-normous party" which consisted of bouncy houses & lunch.

I decided it'd be fun to load up the kids, surprise Lily, & go watch.
Some school events are hard to attend when I have 3 littles in tow.
Ella made a sign, which she was super proud of!

This wiggly tooth
(with the permanent tooth pushing through behind it)

FINALLY came out!
There may be a tooth fairy sighting at our house tonight.

spring break 2016

It was pretty great that we had the cousin's visit and then headed into spring break.  Unfortunately, we shared sickness with our cousins.  We're not sure who the germs originated with, but both families got the stomach bug.  It seemed like every other day, during spring break, someone was either barfing or had diarrhea, BUT we made the most of the good days.

We visited our favorite parks throughout the week.  We also cashed in Lily's FREE happy meal coupons from her hard work with the Accelerated Reading program at her school.

We visited the Children's Museum of Wilmington one day.
We have a membership and the kids always love going.

Perfect timing that Krispy Kreme had free donuts on Friday. We went after dinner with Daddy.

The kids loved watching the donuts being made.

Lily has a VERY loose bottom front tooth. You can see the permanent tooth poking through.  She desperately wanted to lose it before returning to school, but that tooth is stubborn and hanging on.
