We are back in NC & back to work on our house.
(See previous post about our weekend in NYC).
Tuesday evening, we moved the remainder of our things to the house. We slept at the house on Tuesday night as well. We are officially OUT of the condo. It is so nice to be at one place now.
The plan for this weekend is LOTS of unpacking & organizing. Can't wait to hang some art too!

Look What I Found
This morning, Jake & I got up & went running with Sheriff Ed. I have to admit. . .I really wanted to stay in bed this morning, but I went running anyways. SOOOO glad that I did! Look what I found in a FREE pile at the end a driveway we ran past.
After we finished running, Jake & Ed loaded the lockers into Jake's jeep. We took them to the house & then went home to get ready for church. This afternoon, while I unpacked some kitchen boxes, Jake scrubbed & spray painted the locker. Then we moved them into bedroom #3.
Can't wait to unpack some more boxes & fill these lockers up!

4th of July Weekend
We did not have the typical holiday weekend. We spent it working on OUR house. I was off of work on Friday due to the holiday. Friday we painted the living room, hallways & master bedroom. Saturday we painted the dining room, bedroom #2 & bedroom #3. Sunday afternoon we painted the kitchen. We still have to do a second coat on bedroom #3 & the kitchen plus both bathrooms. Jake will also do ALL the trim. We're making HUGE progress.

Before, During, & After
As some of you may have already read or heard, my car died on my birthday. We purchased a Honda Civic that needed a little bit of cosmetic work (it has some dents & rust). Jake started working on the Civic a few months ago. He finished the body work last week & we took it to get painted.
Here are some pictures of DURING & AFTER:

This wasn't even the worst of how it looked. Before we took it to get painted the entire car had been sanded & prepped for painting.

SHERIFF Ed McMahon
This morning, Jake & I, went to the swearing in of our friend, Ed McMahon, as SHERIFF of New Hanover County.
Congratulations Sheriff Ed McMahon!
We are so proud of you.
Ed & Teena (and their family) are good friends of ours. I stayed with Ed & Teena when I came to visit Jake multiple times last year. Ed is the man who assisted Jake is THE Proposal. We love to go to Ed & Teena's to watch the Amazing Race or American Idol. Jake goes running with Ed regularly. I join them on Sunday mornings. Ed & Teena have kind of become our NC "parents." Their 2 kids & their spouses are like siblings to us.
Congratulations Sheriff Ed McMahon!
We are so proud of you.
